A Tour of the REAR Tab

Real decks keep the fiddly stuff on the back. Audionix does the same, and REAR is where you set the app up to suit you.

Source folders

This is where your music comes from. Add a folder and every subfolder becomes a cassette. If you haven't added anything yet, the panel says so. More in turning folders into cassettes.

Outputs

A list of where the sound is going. It shows what you're plugged into, such as a USB-C DAC, wired headphones or Bluetooth. See the output article.

DIP switches

Three of them: HF lift, tape hiss and clicks. Here's what each does.

Haptic trim

A knob that sets how strong the haptic feedback feels. If the buzz on button presses is too much or too little, this is where you tune it.

Online lookups and metadata

Auto online lookups is on by default and fetches missing artist, album and cover art details. Switch it off and Audionix only looks things up when you tap Fetch Metadata. The cover art article has details.

Cassette view and the walkthrough

Cassette view is switched on here, and so is the replay of the first-run walkthrough, in case you want to see it again. That's the unboxing story.
