Unboxing Audionix: The First-Run Walkthrough

The first thing you do in Audionix is take it out of its box. We figured a deck deserves an unboxing.

A new app usually greets you with a permissions prompt. Audionix greets you with a film to peel. You peel it, the deck boots up, and a short walkthrough shows you around.

The six pages

  1. Welcome. A real cassette deck for your own music. Insert a cassette, hit play.
  2. Every folder is a cassette. Add a folder in REAR and each subfolder becomes a tape.
  3. Tune the world. Radio streams free internet stations by country, and a heart saves one as a cassette.
  4. Shape your sound. The 10-band EQ uses your phone's audio effects, and REAR shows what you're plugged into.
  5. Build your own mix. Pick songs from anywhere for a mixtape, or queue cassettes back to back.
  6. That's the deck. Tear it open, press play.

Missed something?

You can replay the walkthrough whenever you like from the REAR tab. Nobody remembers six pages after one read, so that's handy.

If you'd rather just get going, the fastest route is adding your first folder.
