A cassette player app for Android
Audionix turns the folders of MP3s, FLACs and other audio files on your Android phone into a cassette deck. Insert, eject, and flick through your library like a shelf of tapes.
How it works
Point Audionix at a music folder on your phone and each subfolder becomes its own cassette. Your library shows up as a coverflow of tapes: flick through them, insert one, and watch the reels turn. Eject when you're done. Your audio files never leave the device.
What's in the deck
- Local library. Plays your own files, including MP3, FLAC, AAC/M4A, WAV and OGG.
- Cassette view. Show the main screen as a full front-facing cassette with a handwritten-style label.
- Internet radio. Browse live stations by name and country, and save any of them into your library as a cassette of its own.
- Mixtapes. Hand-build a tape from any tracks in your library, one song at a time.
- Queue and search. Line up tapes back to back, reorder tracks and shuffle, and find any album or track in your library.
- Cover art and tags. Optional online lookups for artist, album and cover art. You can switch them off under REAR.
- 10-band EQ and tape effects. Built on Android's audio effects, with optional tape hiss, key clicks and a high-frequency lift.
- Blackout mode. The screen fades to black while music plays and shows only the deck or cassette.
