Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about the Audionix cassette player app for Android.
What is Audionix?
Audionix is a cassette-deck music player for Android. It turns the music folders on your phone into cassettes, and adds mixtapes, internet radio and a 10-band EQ.
Which audio formats does Audionix play?
On Android it plays your own files, including MP3, FLAC, AAC/M4A, WAV and OGG.
Is Audionix free?
No. Audionix is a paid app on Google Play, and its price is shown on the Play page. It has no ads and no accounts. When it opens, it checks with Google Play that your Google account still owns it.
Do I need an account?
No. Audionix has no sign-up, no login and no cloud sync. Everything lives on your device.
Does Audionix have ads or tracking?
No. There are no ads, and no analytics. Your audio files never leave your phone.
Is there an iOS version?
iOS is coming soon and launches with internet radio only. The local library, mixtapes and EQ are Android-only for now.
What is cassette view?
A way to show the main screen as a full front-facing cassette, with a handwritten-style label and reels that turn as it plays. Switch it on from the REAR tab.
Can I turn off the tape hiss and key clicks?
Yes. Hiss and key clicks are on by default and can be turned off from the REAR tab. The tape-style high-frequency lift is off by default.
How do I make a mixtape?
Mixtapes let you hand-build a tape from any tracks in your library, one song at a time, labeled the way you want.
Does Audionix work offline?
Your local library and mixtapes play fully offline on Android. Internet radio and online lookups need a connection.
